Contracts As a Narrowboat purchase is such a
significant cost we use the British Marine Federation (BMF)
contract which pays us in stages, and under this
contract you always own the boat and the work up to that
stage of the boat build.
For ensure the whole build process
goes smoothly we use a marine surveyor to inspect our
shells before delivery, during our build process and a
final check when afloat. We are happy if purchasers want
to appoint their own surveyor to inspect the boat at any
stage of production or as a one off pre-delivery survey.
We want to you to have complete peace
of mind, which is why your new boat will also be issued
with a Boat safety certificate (a sort of MOT for
boats), even though the Boat safety certificate is not
required until the boat is 4 years old.
Our boats also comply with the RCD and
we will issue a Declaration of Conformity, an Owner’s
Manual and will mark the hull permanently with our Craft
Identification Number (CIN). Our builder’s plate also
carries the “CE” mark. |
