Craftsmanship.
The
good news for those who harbour nostalgia for
traditional craftsmanship but who want a modern design
is that bespoke is probably the best option. We still
use traditional methods with solid wood. The clean,
unhampered lines that make a contemporary kitchen and
bedroom serve to highlight both the craftsmanship and
materials used. Consequently, the highest quality of
design and furniture is paramount, which is where
bespoke really comes into its own.
Modern materials
Though often equated with traditional
styles, solid wood is very effective in the modern
bespoke boat. The lighter species such as maple, ash and
birch work very well to give a light interior. We also
specialise in solid wood flooring, and tongue & grooved
solid wood ceilings, oak works especially well for these
applications.
In terms of modern materials, veneers
and laminates are increasingly popular and technological
advances within adhesion and materials mean that past
concerns about durability are no longer valid.
Granite
Worktops
On our boats we are happy to use
granite, if that is your preference. It is strong,
practical and beautiful; granite has been used
throughout the centuries for building and decoration.
Today our granite work surfaces provide the modern
kitchen/bathroom design with a surface that not only
provides year upon year of durable service but adds
elegance and style to those areas and represent the
finishing touch.
Granite is waterproof and stain resistant. Hot pans,
spills and everyday activities pose no problem for
granite. Cleaning is as simple; you only need to use a
damp cloth which makes hygiene very easy.
Other
Worktops
We only offer the highest quality 40mm
laminate or mineralised worktops. With over 100 finishes
to choose from laminate worktops have proved to be a
practical, durable and cost effective choice for many of
our customers. |
